Exploring Iran Classic by Train Tour Details

Landing to PERSIA, Iran is a country with endless history and tradition and you will explore both ancient Persia and modern Iran via train. Our “Exploring Iran Classic by Train” program includes the natural and historical attractions of central parts of Iran.

In this route, we will visit cities like Tehran, Yazd, Shiraz, Isfahan, and finally Kashan. In most of these areas, living in warm and dry areas has been linked with history and has shaped the lifestyle that is specific to these areas.

Important Hints


– Hotel check-in time generally is at 2:00 PM. So, according to your arrival time, if you need early check-in you must book an extra day.

Landing to Persia (Tehran)

Welcome to Iran. To be met by your guide, you’ll be transferred from IKA to Tehran. After checking in to the hotel, you’ll visit Golestan Palace* and then grand old bazaar of Tehran.

Explore Tehran

Today is all about exploring Tehran. We start the day by visiting Sa’dAbad and Niavaran Palace. Then we visit the Jewelry museum (which is only open from Saturday to Tuesday and from 14:00 to 16:00). Then in the evening, we move toward Yazd via train.

Feel the Adobes

Today, after arriving to Yazd and checking in to the hotel, we spend the day visiting the historic city of Yazd*. In this city, we visit Jame mosque of YazdDowlat Abad Persian Garden*, and Amir Chakhmaq complex. Then in the afternoon, we visit two of Zoroastrian’s monuments which are called the Fire Temple, and Tower of Silence.

Meybod – Sa’adatshahr

Today we leave Yazd to visit the beautiful city of Meybod. But before that, we take a stroll through a desert near Yazd and experience a climate which is totally different. Then we have lunch in Meybod. In the evening we go to Sa’adat Shahr near Pasargadae to spend the night there. En-route we visit the magnificent Pasargadae*, the Tomb of Cyrus the Great.

Glory of Persia

Today is all about the Persian Empire. On this day we visit Persepolis* which was the ceremonial capital of the Achaemenid Empire and then visit Naghsh-e Rostam, an ancient necropolis. And finally, we move toward Shiraz to visit this beautiful city (by car).

Explore Shiraz

We start today exploring Shiraz, the city of Roses and Knightingles. First, we visit Nasir al-Mulk Mosque (aka Pink Mosque), then a few steps further we visit Vakil historical complex (Public Bath, Bazar, Mosque) and Karim Khan Citadel. We have lunch there and visit Eram Persian garden*. Finally, we finish the day by visiting Hafezieh (Tomb of Hafez; the Iranian famous poet).

Then we’ll go to Isfahan via train at night.

Half of the World

On Day 7 We explore Isfahan. We visit the beautiful Jame mosque of Isfahan*. And we enter the magnificent Naqshe Jahan historical square* through Qeysarieh Gate. In this open plaza, we visit Shah Mosque*, Sheikh Lotfollah mosque*, and finally Aliqapoo palace*. We finish the day by visiting the beautiful Zayanderoud river and its Historical bridges, Si-o-Se-Pol and Khajoo at night which adds to their beauty.

Continue Exploring Isfahan

We continue visiting Isfahan and its beauties. First, we visit Chehel Sotoun* and Hasht Behesht Persian Garden*. Then visit the interesting Music Museum in Isfahan. In which you might experience a live music performance. Then we take a stroll through Jolfa neighborhood and visit Vank Cathedral and enjoy the neighborhood and its historic buildings.

Kashan Life

In the morning we continue our tour by going to Kashan with a car. In Kashan, we visit beautiful architectures such as Tabatabaei historical house and Borujerdiha or Abbasian historical house. After that, visit Fin Persian garden*, a relaxing and visually impressive Persian garden with water channels all passing through a central pavilion. Finally, we visit the Aghabozorg mosque. Then we go straight from Kashan to Imam Khomeini Airport.
