Iran is a country of breathtaking landscapes, beautiful architecture, and rich history, making it a popular tourist destination. Iran visa for Chinese visiting Iran is simply granted. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the ins and outs of obtaining an Iran e-visa as a Chinese.
The Iran Visa Application Process for Chinese
China citizens can travel to Iran visa-free if their trip is less than 21 days, if the stay is longer they can either apply for an Iran visa before entering Iran or obtain a visa on arrival. They have no limitations on traveling on a group or private tour with or without a registered guide. Chinese can travel to Iran solely and with a group; however, we always recommend traveling in small groups with registered tour guides. It will not only be more enjoyable, but also it’s more cost effective! To Iran Tour can help you with all the steps you need to take to get an Iran visa for China citizens. Here’s an overview of the application process for the Chinese who are planning to stay in Iran for more than 21 days:
Fill out the application form
Iran visa for China citizens can be applied through a registered Iranian travel agency or E-visa service of the Iranian MFA. The advantage of applying through a travel agency is the lower risk of rejection along with saving time. China citizens just need to fill out the Iran visa application form and provide a scanned copy of the first page of their passport and a passport-sized photo. After filling out the form, and paying the service fee, they will receive an authorization code within around 3 working days which means that the visa is approved. The next step is collecting their visa at the point selected in the application form (it can either be the Iranian embassy or consulate in their city or an international airport in Iran).
Wait for visa processing
Once the Chinese have submitted their visa applications, they will need to wait for their visas to be processed. The processing time can vary depending on the volume of visa applications and other factors, so it’s recommended to apply well in advance of the planned travel dates. Usually, it takes 2 – 3 business days to get an Iran visa, but who knows about the probable delays of the high season? It’s suggested you apply for your visa one month or at least two weeks prior to your arrival.

For Chinese it’s 100 EUR at the moment (Aug 2023).
Where to Collect Your Iran Visa
China citizens have two options for collecting their Iran visa: at the Iranian embassy or consulate in different cities around the world or upon arrival at the airport or seaport. If you choose to collect your visa at the embassy, you will need to present your visa authorization code and other necessary documents to the embassy. The embassy will then stamp your passport with the visa.
Alternatively, you can opt for a visa on arrival, which is surely more convenient and time-saving before your trip. If you choose this option, you will need to present your visa authorization code and other necessary documents to the visa-on-arrival counter at the airport. The visa officer will then process your visa and stamp your passport with the visa. If you don’t like to get an Iran visa stamp on your passport, it is possible to get a stamp-free Iran visa. Be noted that here’s where you will pay the visa fee which is 10-150 EUR depending on your nationality.
